We have been on virgin (TV and internet) since it was telewest, and although paying for 8mb, we were only recieving about 4mbit/s (and about 300 ups)

Just downloaded a file at about 1mb per second - found it odd - also noticed my ip had changed recently. did a speedtest, apparently we now are up to 9xxx-10xxx kb/s and 400-500 upload.

I am thrilled that they have pulled the finger out and got something done! Finally we're getting the moneys worth! Dont know if anyone else has experienced this, but im happy.

in sweden they dont do much, at least not in small towns like where i live because they would have to upgrade a lot of stuff for us to get the speed we are paying for :<

dunno what's wrong with virgin though....
we had 2mb on NTL: and they updated us to 4mb, then virgin came along and took over them and no joke for a week i had a download speed of about 26Mbp/s with 4Mb/s upload, then virgin started boasting about fibre optic broadband, and our 4mb connection got "upgraded" to 10mb, now my download sits about 6000 - 8000kbp/s with an up of about 500-800

thought i'd give my story and i'm not kidding and pres knows it, i downloaded the beta twice and installed it before him xD and he had a 30 minute head start

I'm on Virgin Media too, although I've been living here a month so I can't compare it to the past as such.

It's nowhere near the speeds I was getting at halls of residence, but that's to be expected really.

We were getting pretty much half what we should have been. It's very handy getting double the downlaod performance

Shit thats fast, takes me half an hour to download a tv show/movie. And 8 hours to get CoD:WaW, which I will be buying, then punching myself because CoDJumper doe's not condone piracy.

I like the upload, ours is a little lower than I would desire but its good enough
