Plane attempting to land in high winds

Because it's the BBC website, I think only people from the UK can view it.

Seen it before.
My dad had to land a plane that day, everyone on the plane had to be strapped in else they would have hit the roof with the turbulence

You are always supposed to put the seat belt on when landing anyway...Marshall wrote:Seen it before.

No, they were strapped down the whole flight..
You don't ALWAYS tell your hostesses to belt down to a hard surface 20 minutes into the flight, when usually they are handing out drinks.
And yeah, he's a Captain at Flybe

How many years of training do pilots have to do before they can fly commercial planes?

OK, I think it's probably live events you can't see on the BBC site then (for example, Match of the Day). The video is on YouTube now anyway if you weren't able to see it.

Re: Plane attempting to land in high winds
I find it hilarious how everyone on youtube are saying he's an awesome pilot and very talented..
If he had half a brain he would have landed at a different airport,
He nearly killed about 250 people.
