Cant open cod4 :/ help

Ok, for some reason when i try to play cod4 now the game loads up then once its open after about 5-10 secs it crashes and stops responding. It was working fine for me yesterday. Has anyone had this problem or could anyone help me?
Also, i thought it could be to do with installing any new programs so i uninstalled any programs iv installed recently but it still wont work

Temperature maybe ?
Does it give an error of some sort ?

it wont be to do with the temperature because i retried a few hours later after leaving my laptop turned off, and i had to completely restore my laptop and reinstall cod, it worked for a while but iv just had the problem again :s
