ohh looks very impressive:) butt don't you think those glass boxes all around the map will be a bit booring(copy+paste style)? :) Or we just didn't see enough pictures?:)) It's not a negative point, I like your maps, and I know I'll like this too.

i had the chance to test what you've made so far
and i think this can be your best map :D
i see you were inspired by Portal too but you managed to do a very important thing - make that feeling of the player being controlled and then escaping. Ye, the player starts jumping those glass boxes again and again but just before it gets boring there comes a surprise :D i wont say what of course
the level design is great (as always)
but this time ADD a story!!!! :D

PS and dont forget about uw when you finish your map...

Well jm_glass is finished. It's not a big map, I finished it in a hurry as I wanted to get it out of the way. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it.
The map can be completed with 125fps but it's very hard(220-244).

Anyway here's the download link:

JM_GLASS

IMPORTANT NOTE: Inside the .rar you will find two files: jm_glass.iwd and rzl_texture_pack.iwd. BOTH of these files are needed in your main for the map to work properly.

From now on for every map I make the rzl_texture_pack.iwd will be needed.

The reason for this is that I always have many custom textures in my maps and I re-use most of my textures in maps. So instead of you having to download a 15MB map every time I make a new one you'll only need the texture pack. I did this for YOUR convenience, not mine.

Oh, and ENJOY THE MAP. :)

This map could have been great... unfortunately for some reason you killed it :?
with the impressive beginning i thought thats nice so far let's head for the next part and suddenly lol it said I finished wtf
there were only 3 more rooms with jumps after the beta i played
i thought the glass boxes part is just the beginning and in fact it's the bigger part of the map...
i'm disappointed i expected a big spectacular map
there's no story as always
there are no sounds as always
there are no effects as always
there's no scripting (for the 1st time) ....
All jumps you've made after the beta i tested, really didnt fit with the concept it was just another urban/offices copy-paste corridors with boxes
i dont say its bad just not what i expected could've been much better
dunno why u finished it in a hurry
the jump difficulty is hard as always
i liked the level design till after the window where u look out
at least you released this 1, not like the museum which could've been a great map too :(

Hmm I can agree with you too in some points, but I dunno why you need always a story :) A map can be great jumpmap without story too :) ppls read storyline only once, then they just jump and jump again across the map... :) hmm scripting? a map can be great without big scripting too, I think :) A bit short the map but, a lots of players can't finish it with this lenghts too I think :) A bit easier than your other maps, I did every jumps at least third tries.

So my opinion is: the map is cool and! +1 cod2 jump map at least:)

First of all, I NEVER intended to make this map a great one. I never made a floorplan, never planned anything ahead etc. etc. for this map which is why the result is as it is. The map is short 'cause I ran out of ideas(actually I had a lot of ideas but I'm going to implement those in my next map which is again a 'planned project' as opposed to 'free building'(hope you know what I'm talking about).

Second, you say there's no story. I agree but a story is not needed for the map to play well. For example you can have a GREAT story but if your mapping is bad, the story ultimately doesn't matter as the player will remember the visuals rather than the story.
there's no scripting (for the 1st time) ....
Not true, jm_warehouse and jm_pier also had no scripting(also, how come the final message doesn't qualify as 'scripting'? Oo)

Third, jm_museum is still in progress, I'm just going to put it on a hold until after I visit some museums/galleries in my town.

Ultimately, this map is really just a quick break from mapping(even though it sounds paradoxal :))

Thanks for your points floater but I'm not planning to fix or add anything to this map so you can either play it. Or not. Either way is fine with me. :)

1st that's my opinion and for me story is important as it makes the map more interesting and different from the others
i agree it is not necessary but it wouldnt take long time to add 1
about the scripting i meant moving stuff etc which is not necessary too and i was talkin about since u made urban

I find stories tacky.

'Where the fuck am I? I just woke up in an art gallery and I dont know how...'

'I cant pass here until I obtain the [insert gem name here] legendary key'

Im not saying theyre bad, just i find they add nothing to the experience. Just some 'wtf, i never knew i needed a key o.O' moments...

About to test the map mate.
