Best graphics card?
I'm hoping to get a new card to replace my 7600 GT in a few weeks time. Which card would you guys recommend? (this includes dual cards).

Re: Best graphics card?
The best graphics card is the gtx280 I think. But it costs a lot.. Maybe the 9800gx2 is faster in some games/some resolutions. But I think the gtx280 is the most stable performer of the 2, because it doesnt have to deal with SLI scaling, which is or is not very good in certain games.
Also the HD4870 might be a good choice, costs about 150 pound.. Look up some benchmarks for them. Also the HD4870x2 should come out soon, which might be a good card.
It would be a waste to buy one of these cards without atleast having a 3.0 ghz core 2 duo and 2 gb ram though.
I believe Louweeeh had some of those gtx280's for sale for about 300 quid.

Re: Best graphics card?
Thanks for the information, will wait and see if anyone else has anything to add
Here's some information which might affect the decision:
Processor: Intel Core2 CPU 6600 @ 2.4GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Hard Drive: 500 GB
Operating System: Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit
Motherboard: ASUS P5W DH Deluxe
I'm planning on getting another 500 GB hard drive and doubling my RAM.

Re: Best graphics card?
about the hd4850, you asked me how it would perform in cod4
I think with everything highest without AA and AF, you would get pretty stable 125 fps i think.
That card much faster as my 8800gt and I dont have any fps problems when I turn up the settings.

I've got the same card as you and sometimes my FPS reaches 50. Still playable. Ofcourse I've got everything at max.

Re: Best graphics card?
I never had fps that bothered me in anyway.. So a faster card as this should be sufficient.
