NEW RELEASE- MP_JUMPZONE-BETA1
Ok here it is the first ever jump map by me, dedicated to CodJumper.com for having me as a member of there Team/Forum.
Map NAME: JumpZone.
Type of map: Jump Map
Players: 5-15 or what ever server is set to.
Best play type: FREE-For-All with CodJumper Mod/RPG RPG REQ in some jumps.
Time Limit: Pro Jumpers can do this within 10 mins im sure of it.
Begginers, may need 20-30 mins to compleate map.

Next Version Beta 2 Harder Jumps, PLatforms to be wider on next version
When next version due. WeekEnd hopefully.

My next map will be an Exstention of this ,a little bigger with harder jumps and will require the RPG for sure for making hugher jumps.
If marshal is able to help i want a moving platform in the next version, i will have to send him the updated files, so he can do them for me, unless i get them done by someone else befor he is ready to help.lol..
After the next Maps is finished, i hope to make more jump maps, and not the battle type ones as they are harder to do and give me more problems. So lets see what comes up in the near future.

After having done this map, my question is: Do u know what a strafejump is?
Its like u have no idea
There are no strafejumps in what so ever, 99% of the jumps I could do with no strafe, no sprint. I also got lost at some point, but it wasnt a big problem because I could find a big shortcut quite easily. The first time I did it, it took me 8 min.

Working on a small update, betao1b, fixed water feature, some Jump Platforms resized and fixed as on some when you tried to jump there was platforms just above blocking your jumps, even RPG jumps. going throgh the map bit by bit.. will hopefully upload a newer beta01b version later tonite.
After that i be making the map bigger, when you reach the exit hole, there will be another LEvel of the building to go throw, then out into the Main Courtyard with more jump platforms leading to where you first started, the exit will end there
I was thinking of putting in some invisible walls, but i dont know how to d othese, any one assist on how to make invisible walls.??
The 2nd level building may have a kinda Maze type of feature, im not sure yet.. As there be loads of dead ends, meaning ya have to go back on yaself, to find the right exit out of the building.. this may take a few days to do, as i also want to extend jumps through out the map, to make it harder ..this version i hope to make hard, and try to make some Strafe jumping into it.

Thank M8 for imput, i thought Stafeing was side jumping myself.lol oh well. Yes in the newer version im making the jumps wider, maybe 1.5 times or ever 2 times further apart, but that will be on the extended version, im just irioning out the jumps and water features in this version first version Beta01B, this version is classed as a EASY/Begginers Jump Map, so once people got the hang of this then they can try the next one the extended harder version.KillerSam wrote:for an invisible wall - use the texture from tools: player clip - its translucent, red and says 'player' all over it It will show as invisible in game.
As for strafejumping (surprised you asked this to be honest) just make the gap larger, since the whole principle of strafe jumping is making gaps that you couldn't normally jump. Put the gaps to like 290-310 or something (Is that about right for CoD4?)

Maps as easy as these are no good to learn jumping, its just too easy. Dont get me wrong, the map itself is good for a first map, but the jumps are just too easy.
Also, im not a big fan of mazes, they just piss me right off. But thats a matter of preference, so its up to you.
About the sizes that Sam mentioned. I would make them a little smaller, if ur intention is to make a bit of easyer map. Id suggest jumps 265-280.

i may make 1 part a kinda gap jump in the 2nd level, not like the climbing jumping platform like most of the map is already.. Just wait and see what i make, but it will be harder than this map, just hope people wont say it to hard when ive done it.lol

And indeed, no mazes! The small maze in Soviet Stronghold is ok, just a tiny bit, but not a massive maze like jm_prison (Or however it's called) which is one big massive maze. But very easy again once you know the way.

Issues Fixed.
Water Feature, you can now see water, and not an empty block.
Jump platforums in main Garden. Several Shortened or Widened.
Jump Platforms in 1st & 2nd Alley sorted.
Garden 2 (Water side)Jump Platforms, many was blocking you jumping coz of head height was to short.(i spent
4 hours reconfiguring this section, so it had clear jumps or slightly side jumps.
Building Platforms sorted, found several that needed shorting or widening

JumpZone-HARD
Next version of this will be larger and bigger, higher building now with a 2nd floor.
2nd floor may contain Ultra Gap jumps, and other sorts of jumps (not sure which yet)
The Exit will be on the 2nd floor, leading out to the main Garden, with MID air jump platforms.
Leading back over the water feature the ninto the main garden to the start position.
All jumps will be wider, less steps to jump, for Strafeing, (Sprint jumps)
hope to have this finished by the weekend.
