Well, try practicing on the jumps destiny does on the turitol, start at one corner of the box, then run to the opisite side, start to face the object your jumping to, then jump, then pray to hell you havn't flicked too far, if you are missing by left to right its your flicking, if your missing the jump, try running and jumping 'harder' untill you get it, once you 'Klick' in strafe jumping it becaomse so easy....

When running in the 'arc' use Strafe. Without Strafe it would not be a strafe jump.A1tjm wrote:Just to tell you what I am doing:
First I run in an arc only holding foward
Next when I get to the end I press space + a holding them (plus foward) and I flick my mouse
Do I hold A running or what?
Little demo I whipped up. Click Here
If I seem to go a little too fast to watch it properly, before running the demo type in console "/timescale .5"

I assure you using strafe while jumping DOES make you go further. When you say 'most' that isn't 'all'. Maybe if you used strafe you could do em allTsunami wrote:Meh... I have NEVER used my strafe key in strafe jumping and i can reach most 'possible' jumps...Strafe key is bs

I doubt you go further as running backwards is slower than running forwards. They are obviously just "showing off" trying to make the jump look harder than it actually isNeon wrote:I saw someone do a 'strafe' jump by running backwards and flicking the mouse through 180o. WDF!!! Does this make you go further than normal strafe. i can never go in a straight line flicking through 180.

backwards is accually just as fast as forwards :p i tested that with a clanmate (he chased me as i ran backwards)
also you can do a strafe jump from a platform 8px by 8px so the runup from one corner of a 64px by 64px box is frankly bullshit
also you should read the tutorial more closely as im certain destinys demo has been numbered to show what he is doing for each part
if all else failes try catching a CJ member on a server and one of us will help you.
