Hey guys this is my first post here but i had a great idea and would be willing to ask some of my pals from the swat mod to look into doing this but we shall see.......anyway these maps need a mod...one that will "checkpoint" you. Basically what i was thinking was if there was a way to have you bind a key that will "drop" a spawn point so when you die you go back to where you last saved at or "dropped" the spawn point.....its a fairly simple concept and i dont think it would be hard to accomplish...If you like this idea and think it would be cool to have email me at Iceman@thedeadclan.com and let me know your ideas.....would be a great asset to these maps and would probably spark some popularity in them seeing how ppl could get far and not have to start all over ;) ....shoot me your thoughts and we can see if i can talk the Swat mod guys into helping me out ;)

hmmm ive got mixed feelings about this 1 atm. it would be helpful for those new to jumping and for some maps which are very long (e.g. dan_jump) or have certain points which are very hard to do (e.g. jm_plazma tower). however, for those more skilled then this may lose the challenge of the maps when you can respawn where you last 'saved'. ppl would finish maps much quicker in servers then prob b bored for ages and might start killing or b a general nuisance etc. also if there r some points in the map where a lot of ppl get stuck and keep respawning there, then problems start very quickly (and we should b getting a 26slot server soon so imagine the chaos which could happen). i think if some servers had the mod, and some didn't then it would sound alright. what do the rest of u think?

I think it could work on bigger maps, but only so you can save at certain points..far apart. Not so you can save whenever you want. Although like Destiny said people could get bored.

As long as it was fine tuned, tested well and made sure you can go back to the start of the map if you want. It could be good.

yeah! its sounds ok for some maps and not ok for others.. like say if the normal jumper would play plazma he might get stuck on 1 jump and as soon as he has completed that just he can press that key that he has binded that 2 and respawn as soon as he dies.. which is a good thing in a way coz you can concerntrate on 1 jump until you cracked it.. but! from my view id rather make sure i can do ever jump or whatever b4 that to get to that point.. if anything! id rather have devmap on and then you know you can omplete it..
but to do it properly then dont have devmap on and its more fun (frustrating at times) lol but its a smaller chance of some1 getting bord!!

sry for some spelling..lol just woke up.. anyways! hope ppl can understand that. :? lol :roll:

Great replies all....got some stuff in there i didnt even think about. Although if anyone has played jm_krime....its almost essential for a mod of sort in which im talking about....some of them are just so tough that its essential to map completion (or atleast for me because obviously i suck) but i think its not entirely bad if made precisely......the thing is i dont even know if its possible for this but i have to talk to a couple friends but we shall see :)

you would probably have to use a teleport script and make the checkpoints into custom spawnpoints for each player... so they would automaticly spawn at the last cp, unfortunatly it would be vvvvv hard to impliment
