New PC

So we finally got our new pc..

specs:
Asus p5n-e SLI
core 2 duo e6600 (2,4 ghz)
2gb ram
8800GTS 320mb - OC
580 watt hiper power supply.

I havent gotten to fully testing it. But i could get pretty stable 333 fps in the jump maps at respecable settings. I ran F.E.A.R maxed out (resolution 1680x1050) and it was very well playable.
Company of heroes at the same settings was a bit harder, but when i turn down the resolution i think i can still run it at max fine.
OH ye, all testing was done with old graphics card drivers, new drivers should increase performance a bit.

So I ran a benchmark..

9285 in 3dmark06.. quite good id say

I might be abled to get a higher score, when i run the test when i just started my pc.. so there arent as many programs running and stuff.

Is that 1000 quid meant for pc and monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers and headset and stuff?
Anyway, things have gotten a lot cheaper since i actually bought it.. and by the time you buy ur pc the new ati cards should be released, so thats gonna be interesting.

Good stuff Ai. Have you tried strafejumping with 500 or even 1000 FPS yet ?

well.. i cant get steady 1000 fps.. atleast not when i took the screeny.
and 500+ fps jumping sucks, als louw allready showed us.. ill try 1000 when i get the map he tried it in..

Edit:

Got the map.. and jumping with 1000 fps is useless... same as 600 or so.. also, i kept floating over the floor the entire time..

I'll be putting together a pretty serious singlecore PC later today.
Will be overclocking it like a looney.

The parts are a bit old, but really good.

It only cost bout 400 dollars.

I remember It had
DFI lanparty socket 939
ATI Radeon x800
s939 Opetron. 1,8 something. clocked to 2,4
2xOCZ 512 Performance RAM.
Fortron BlueStorm II 500 W.

I'll specify later and give ya the test results later.
