Jurassic 5

Post by Pedsdude » October 7th, 2006, 3:07 pm

I went to the Jurassic 5 concert in Newcastle on Thursday, and it was absolutely brilliant. On the down side, I stood near the speaker the whole time so I was partly deaf in my left ear for most of yesterday, but I've recovered now ;)

For those of you who are interested (i.e. those of you who don't hate rap/hip-hop music), I recorded 14 videos with my mobile phone:
http://youtube.com/view_play_list?p=D317C33F79D624DF

Before you start criticising them because they're rap (*cough* KS), they're a more 'pleasant' kind of rap, in the way that they're not your stereotypical "I'm going to kill your children and rape your wife" rap. If you want to hear some of their better songs (they are almost all very good songs in my opinion, otherwise I wouldn't be a fan :P), then listen to "What's Golden", "A Day At The Races" (which happens to have the best intro for any song ever made imo :P), "Concrete Schoolyard", "Quality Control" and "O Le Le".

Anyway, back to the concert... It was from 7pm to 11pm (they came out at 9pm - there was a Radio 1xtra guy performing for the first two hours), and at the end I went and got my shoe signed by three of the five members, and shook one of their hands :) I also bought a t-shirt, but I'm sure you all don't care about that (well, I'm sure most of you don't care about this entire thing anyway :D).

We may not care or like the music (Rap is not music) that you do Peds, but it's great that you had a good time and was able to meet some of them.

I know how you feel, I was able to meet and sit next to Brian May of Queen

Am I on my own or something? lol

I recommend some of you listen to "Thin Line" by Jurassic 5, featuring Nelly Furtado.

There is no puke emoticon, I can't stand custom ones.

It's not a fact, it's a matter of opinion.

why u so bothered, peds like rap, possibly the rhythm, or maybe the lyrics, but at the end of the day, who really cares about people that dont care about that particular genre of music. Bottom line is, saying something sucks, is in no way a fact.

Over and out

Im not a big fan of rap music, but bein at a concert like that is allways cool. No matter if u like the music or not, the atmosphere is allways good.

Yeah, the atmosphere was amazing. A lot of people say that J5 are one of the best bands to see live and I have to agree with them (although it's the only concert I've ever been to so far ;)).

You can get a good judge of the atmosphere in the videos in the playlist link at the top of this topic, most prominant in "A Day At The Races", "Intro" and "Monkey Bars"
