honestly, i wouldnt go with a radeon. In my past experiences they seem to be overpriced and the software that comes with them i dont know much about...that and i dont know much about them.
Id say get a geforce 6800gt equivilant if you have a fairly low budget or a 7600-7900 equivilant if you have a fairly high budget (from 250-300 dollars)

If you want 1000fps on jumpmaps get a 7900GTX, I've got one 2.
That's why my brother's computer doesn't need anti-virus software; 450MHz P3 doesn't meet virus's system requirements.

When playing DX9 you will be around 60FPS depending on AA, AF and the amount of players in the server. If you use DX7 you should always have 80+ fps.

Im not talking about huge pixels on your screen, but a high resolution with AA and AF fully enabled

I run 125fps constant @ 1600x1200 AAx4 and AFx16 - DX7 ofcourse.

DX7 (AAx4 AFx16 @ 1600x1200 HIGHEST image quality) - capped 125FPS (sometimes I reach 250FPS, at lowers resulitions you get 333FPS constant)
DX9 (AAx4 AFx16 @ 1600x1200 HIGHEST image quality) - 67FPS
