Help on sky, and spawn points ( i assume that is worldspawn)

Help on sky, and spawn points ( i assume that is worldspawn)

I have watched 3 tutorials on both skybox and worldspawn, but i still do not understand what to do. if possible i was wondering if i could send one of you experienced mappers my map and u do it for me. im also havbing trouble compiling. i dont get all the files that the tutorial says, which r .bsp,.prt, .poly i only get .bsp,.prt and .lin (which i dont know what that means)

ok, about the skybox, if the box isnt sealed along all edges then it will leak, and the map won't compile, you'll see a **LEAKED** error in the compile window, and you won't get the .bsp (the one you need)
Don't worry about worldspawn yet, you can add them later, they're the settings that can change the lighting of the map.

he just sended me the map and i cant open it it gives an error,
i told him best way to do is remake it had the problem also with my other map and asked around best advice: remake

Yes, when u make the skybox, be certain that all brush edges are touching (not inside eachother). This causes a leak and the map will not compile.

well it would compile and still work only no prt or how u write it :P bsp will still work :P

ok guys i regiestered. i am still having toruble with the sky and spawns, buti have finished everything else. PLZ could i just send you my map and u do it for me, otherwise i give up lol.

What is the problem making the skybox? and adding spawn points is easy, do you not know how to add them or is there a problem when you try to add them?

These are the first basic things you should learn in mapping, so I suggest you learn them if you want to succeed.

told him like 15 times.. but he just doesnt understand his codradiant is installed good, but he just dont understand what i'm telling him :shock:
