Making a CoD server

Post by finny_13 » July 14th, 2006, 10:11 am

ive recently tried to make a cod server but using portforward.com to make a static ip but ive stumbled at the last hurdle. i have a D-Link DSL-502T and when i go to forward the ports i need it tells me i have to it asks me to select an fdb rule, i have the option of about 12 games and call of duty isnt there so what do i select? direct (7,8) games is one option, is that good enough? also it asks me to save and reboot does that mean i need to restart the computer or the modem? there isnt a save button either so should it save atuomatically. id like to here from anyone who has successfully made a server or used a d link modem cause im so close but so far away.

cheers

There should be an option to choose the ports manually. Anyway, you need to open the port you are using to host your server (default 28960)

Also, try looking at the manual of the router, it should stand there how to open ports. Or look at the official site, faq's and stuff like that.

Good luck!

http://www.portforward.com/english/rout ... f_Duty.htm

So you cant get into virtual server? or no option for user defined settings? direct x 7/8 games won't work, they just open 2300-2400 and 47624. you need 20500,20510,28960

as you can see on the port forward site i cant get up to the part where it asks me for rule Name, Private IP, Protocol, Port Start, Port End,Port Map. Im stuck on a page where it asks me for a fdb rule. there must be a simple way to do it i just need someone to point it out.
