Just gota DS lite

Post by red_gee » June 19th, 2006, 12:58 am

I picked up a DS lite for myself on Friday, along with The New Super Mario Bros. And Starwars Revenge of the sith or something like that.

Just thought I'd post my opinions if anybody was curious about the system

Well first off, I got the starwars game free, so I could really care less, on the surface it seems to play okay, but there are some simple play mechanics that it just doesn't seem to have, ie. to attack an enemy you have to be to their side, if you are standing right above, or right below, you attack misses...Maybe not a big deal, but just seems sloppy

Anyway, The New Super Mario Bros. is awesome, it has a link up option, and you can play even if the other player has no cart (seems to be a common thing with DS games, but still I think it is great) the game it self has a ton of extra mini games that are very simple, but loads of fun.
I brought the DS to my Girlfriend's house for fathers day, and before I knew it her mom dad and brother were all fighting over who's turn it was.

And lastily the DS lite appears to be leaps and bounds ahead of the old DS, it is way smaller, lighter, the screen looks better, the buttons are now the same color as the face, so it seems to blend it in, giving it a more seemless feel. My friend brought his old DS over last night, and he was pretty upset about how nice the DS lite is

So if you were curious, or interested, whether it be for youself or a gift, don't hesitate, I have only been playing it for a couple days, but I am rather impressed

Also, the DS lite is supposed to be the same price as the DS, but I have noticed some retailers in my area dropping $10 off the DS to get them to move

Graphically it looks better than a PS2.
Superior? Tell that to the sales off the DS.
Enterbrain analysts report that for the week ending May 28 Japanese hardware sales figures show that the Nintendo DS outsold the PSP by a factor of 10. The DS Lite sold 295,103 units, while the PSP managed to sell 27,191.
How about that Sony :P

I'm afraid thats were your wrong :P

More sales = better game/console.

That is how all markets are evaluated, if you sell the most, then you are the better console.
This way there is no biased (e.g Nintendo fanboy does not vote who is better, and vice versa)

DS is a god over PSP :P
(psp is a slightly better version of the "game gear" :P)
