Using jumps in matches

Post by Neon » June 14th, 2006, 10:25 pm

This is a question to all who scrim; Would you use a legal jump, very close to spawn if it was just an easy strafe jump? I say this because I had an arguement with my clan leader (even though i'm on trial lawl) about the use of a jump on toujane. He said
It's impracticle and would be pointless to try several jumps with a pistol out
or something along those lines ... bearing in mind none of my clan can strafe apart from me but :| I am right in saying there's nothing wrong with using it if I can do it ... it's not impracticle as I can get there within 7-10secs (depending on spawn point), without being seen by the enemy :| Most defending positions take longer to get to :?

so Would you use a legal jump, very close to spawn if it was just an easy strafe jump? :P and i dont mean every single round, maybe once or twice[/url]

Ye for sure i would and have done in Officials.

Also i have watched many demo's of all sorts of clans & Nations Cup Teams using strafe jumps to certain positions on maps in

official matches. ( I'm talking Clanbase Ladders here! ) I know some gaming ladders specify no jumping etc.. but where there

are no specific rules then its fair game and in your own interest to know these spots and use them imo.

At the end of the day you are only jumping and you are still there to be shot at if seen.

I know according to TWL you can jump as long as no propultionary methods are used and in the place you get to you cannot see through any textures. But in the end it just comes down to the agreement between the two teams

I would do it... I do some jumps occasionally in maps, although if I'm not jumping badly at the time and believe that I won't make it then I don't bother as it just wastes valuble time ;)

When i wus in my other clan (more a division with 250+ people) all my team mate's wure spraying and trying to get there attention while i wus doing the out of map jump at neuville in cod1, i got nice score's like 17/1 and they didnt say i wus cheating or sumthing, they said: LOL NICE JUMPING M8, and the match wus registered =P so it is something you may do =P ! In some ladders/leagues you are not allowed to do this such as clanbase
#
# Players are allowed to stack, in order to look and shoot over walls.
# Players are allowed to boost to reach places that they can also reach on their own (even if this is through a different route). Boosting to areas that are not accessible by a player on its own is not allowed.
# Because there are always things that are 'on the edge' we'll mention a few common things here:

* Jumping out of or under the map is strictly prohibited
* Abusing clipping errors in the map to see through or past objects is not allowed
* Bomb planting inside objects so that the opposite side is unable to defuse the bomb is not allowed
just make sure to read all of the rules before you start any type of ladder/league

also plz try not to bring back topics that are so old....

I was being sarcastic >.<

I just firstly hate the internet "slang", I dont mind acronyms, but things like "pwn" and "boon" and the famous "l33t" are just stupid.

Especially since the word boon is actually a REAL word, and is nothing like the now "slang" meaning.
A "boon" is actually a blessing, usually given by the Gods but can also be used in a sentence where any form of blessing. Boon Defined

----

And also what is a "noobclan", who defines what a noobclan is, if the meaning of a noobclan is that they are not a "l33tclan" (which I can only assume is the opposite of noobclan), then surely every clan except the number 1 clan in the world is a "boonclan"...

I will excuse my self from this subject, go and join my "boonclanmates" on TS and talk about things that actually make sense.

haha sam, blind leading the blind 8)

So pretty much according to those rules stated, we're allowed to do most jumps (nothing wrong with getting a height advantage or being able to aim at them from a position they wouldn't expect, but they could see if they looked there).
