Strafe jumps and other jump is so short

Hey Guys ...

I'll say right away I'm french , but I love CODJumper

My problem is that my Jumps on Cod is short ...

I have all config for Call of duty 4 (viewtopic.php?f=55&t=12464) Setup , config Fps and Codjumper mod .
I have already train to the strafe jump , bounce , FPS switch and other ...

But I noticed that I need to be on "old school" for make the custom map .

Lol. For one thing, on the second clip your fps is not 125 const.. it drops to like 80.. this can greatly affect performance.. But !st thing i notice is your fov is 65... fov 65 sucks for codjumper... cg_fov 80 plz... next thing is that you strafe too wide, and too slowly: the more energy you put into the strafe, the further you will go (theoretically). 3rd thing is your strafe stops after you jump. In other words, you strafe, and turn the mouse until you jump, but do not keep it moving after the jump.. this is wrong. Keep ONE smooth motion and hit the spacebar to jump without stopping the motion of the mouse at all - just keep your mouse moving smoothly left the whole time. Mouse movement is what keeps you gliding (strafing) through the air. The last thing i noticed is on the second clip, you hit the bounce too high. The lower you hit a bounce, the higher you will bounce, and therefore the farther you will go. Try again ^^

So ,

- The FPS is not constant because I rec the game ,
- FOV rectified
- My strafe can't have more speed but now is short
- After the strafe , I don't move my mouse and it makes no difference
- When I bounce on the middle (or bottom) of the platform my bounce it the same ...

Conclusion : My strafe and bounce is short but I will not further .

other solution ?

First of all I'd suggest looking down whilst strafing.
This is incase you do get any FPS drops and by my knowing it increases your jump distance.

Second, I noticed that you're not moving your mouse very smoothly.
In order to do a 'perfect' or atleast decent strafe, try to move your mouse as smooth as possible.

And thirdly, are you releasing any buttons whilst strafing?
Since you suddenly start to sprint in mid-air.

If you still have any problems after trying what I suggested, then I could show you how to strafe in-game.

I did not understand everything but I understood :

- The FPS inceased my jump distance
- I need to move my mouse very slowly and smooth
- For your question , no I release just my mouse .

I can't join you because I have a Crack version (1.7) Its very difficulte too find Cod on Mac and I can't pay on internet .

So you basically 'throw' in into an direction ?

If that's the case, then that's the problem .
You shouldn't release any button nor your mouse whilst strafing.



Despite the fact that this video is for advanced strafing, it'll work for the basic jumps just as good.
The only diffrence here is the angle, for a basic jump I'd say.. 70-90 degrees will do the trick.

Do you have Steam? Maybe CoD4 supports mac. Take a look. I did notice it's still 25 Euros. But if you like jumping, it'll be more fun playing online.
