hi i need help with updating my cod4 i can't find "auto update" button or what it is and also i've downloaded a map from downloads --> maps --> cod4 and i can't find the map when i've unzipped i can find the map im unzipping but not the folder i should the the unzipped folder in

help me please

Do you mean patch?

Load CoD4 MP, look in the bottom right hand corner and see what the version number is. Post here with what it says.

it says 1.0 my patch is 1.0

I'm not sure if the CoD4 patches contain all the content from the previous patches, so I think you have to install ALL of them.

Download all of those patches and install them in order, i.e. 1.1 then 1.2 then 1.3 then 1.4 all the way up to 1.7

Only when you buy the game in a store though. Not when you still have your old disc.

Whenever you buy the game, you only need 1.6 and 1.7. 1.6 includes all previous patches.

I think you misunderstood Pres - he means that 1.6 contains ALL the data that the patches before it did, so no matter when you bought the game, you only need 1.6 and 1.7.

Ahh like that. Yeh then I must've misunderstood. My copy of CoD4 was broken so I bought a new one and I had to download 1.6 and 1.7. I thought all patches before that were on the new disc.

The 'newer' version of CoD4 has 1.6 included I think (because it has the new maps, and they are in 1.6) so if you bought it recently-ish you should only need to download 1.7 (I think!).

Hmm, I'm not entirely sure if they updated it to 1.6 but when I got CoD4 a few months ago I had to install 2 patches.
