That was weird...
I was in a search and destroy server, had my graphics settings all the way down.. resolution of 640x480, and my fps was 100-170.\
Then i set my graphics settings to med. resolution of 1152x864 and my fps was 250-333...
Increase of fps when i turned the graphics up
Any idea how come?

the only thing I can think of is that each setting of graphics has a pre-set "/com_maxfps" setting. So that way people with low end comps are already switched to a lower setting which will not pull on the computers strings.

$400? that sounds too good to be true..thats like the best socket 939 mobo you can get for overclocking, so you could probably get 3ghz out of that opteron too. I wanted to get that mobo to replace my busted one a couple weeks ago, but they're over £100 new

jumpmaps are probably less demanding because of the less complicated mapping, structuring and lighting.aicaramba wrote:But when i use lowest settings in a jump server I do get 500-1000 fps (in most maps).
It also seems that on newer systems high picmip values have a fps-decrease instead of the expected increase. While picmip 0 seems to result in higher fps.

Yep. Clocked it the proc. to 2.8 ghz and I am using Zalman 9500 with the blue led. Temp does not go over 32 usually. When playing it gets a bit higher but all in all it stays cool. Could try going for 3 but it wouldn't make that much of a difference.Luke wrote:$400? that sounds too good to be true..thats like the best socket 939 mobo you can get for overclocking, so you could probably get 3ghz out of that opteron too. Dont really know much about ati cards so didn't dare to clock it that much.
I have the usual clock on Core 580.50 and mem on 577.33 and I am using Silencer 4 for it. Thats really good. any suggestions on how high I could clock it without getting burned.
The OCZ is really reliable so I clocked the 2 512 cards to 500 mhz and i use a 12 cm cooler for it . nice and cool

My E6600 gets till 40 when playing games, when i stressed both cores seperately, it gets to 44.. With a stock cooler and goooood airflow, but the stock cooler never really tries to keep it any cooler, not spinning any faster.. Theyre allowed to get to 65.
My GPU gets stressed to 72, which is perfectly fine..
