why cod4? cod4 is for me aswell not a real Call of Duty part

I play only vcod uo and cod2 those are for me the best, all others screwed up the gameplay and I really hate games where you have to level up to get better weapons and such stuff

if I wanna play a good pacific ww2 shooter I prefer the mohpa, but for me cod5 was a step back in development of the series, at first I thought nice a new ww2 part, but they really fucked it up, ok nice to try to get some new jumps, but that was all - and the finding of jumps was disappointing to find out that there had not been a /record function or /cg_drawfps function in it

and we don't insult them, the game just lacks imo cod feeling

Maps arent all that bad, they added lot of sandbags and bunkers everywhere which I liked a lot.
Squad fonction isnt used a lot, its true but when I'm playing with friends I love to use it.
The tanks are yes overpowered if you play a 5 vs 5 match, but if you play a 20 vs 20 match, then they're fair ( and also they can be removed anyway )
I also liked the add of bayonet and molotov cocktails those were really original and cool.
So well I agree, most of time IW add a lot of big things, but treyarch add a lot of little and cool thing and I like that.

EVERY game from treycharch in the past was a failure
Because 'Zombie Mod' was the first ever Zombie production...

Treyarch have been part of many highly rated games, and if you include the fact that they are a merge of GMI (the creators of United offensive, Kingpin Life of Crime and RTCW SP), then they are bigger than Infinity Ward.

Modern Warfare 2 will be a new reskinned Modern Warfare.
Same engine, same features, new ideas.

They have established a base for a game, and they are going to milk it beyond belief.

Soviet wrote:1st: that doesn't make it original, it simply means they spent so much time adding in unnecessary SHIT, yes SHIT, that they didn't spend anytime actually making a quality game
2nd: It was one bonus level. Judging by the level of detail, extensive scripting, custom models, sounds, effects, and coding it took them quite some time. If they really cared about the players, they would have spent some time improving Call of Duty not adding in some stupid BULLSHIT knockoff level that has nothing to do with Call of Duty.
3rd: The squads are never used, and they've been done many times in other games with little consequence. The hit detection on bolt action rifles is SHIT, the optic sights and other SHIT are completely unrealistic and don't fit at all. Tanks are pathetically balanced and extremely overpowered. Sound is SHIT. Maps are poorly designed and have no flow. Therefore, gameplay sucks (and is SHIT).
4th: SP is no better than CoD4 and coop doesn't make up for the many other SHITTY shortcomings of the game.
5th: And Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, and Call of Duty 4. Odd, that means all Call of Dutys by Infinity Ward have better mp than SHITTY Treyarch.

Therefore, Treyarch is SHIT. I don't like them, I don't like any of the work they have done. Call of Duty 3 was SHIT and this one is no better. It may be decent by console standards, but we are PC gamers, and don't settle for licking up the SHIT that Treyarch spews around for SHIT loving gamers.

ok? ok.

I love your write-stil :D

*sigh* whatever happened to games like Goldeneye. Now that had endless hours of fun on mp :s.

P.S. for what it's worth, I honestly don't (present tense) believe Call of Duty: World at War is as bad as people are saying that it is. They obviously made many mistakes, but I believe that almost any game which was set after CoD1/2/4 in the series would be considered shit seeing as how good those turned out. When I get CoD1, CoD2, and CoD:UO I'll state my opinion of those compared to CoD4/WaW, but I can't say much else besides what I've already said.

EDIT: forgot to add, I ordered a CoD pack which has CoD1/2/UO for about $20-$30 (can't remember) about 2 weeks ago, and it was estimated to come around April 1-3 so I should be getting it soon :>.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Many people play Unreal Tournament. I hate it. Does that make it a failure?

The game has a reviewers average of 84%
The game sold TWICE the amount of games (on console at least) in its first week compared to Modern Warfare in UK.
The THIRD fastest selling game in UK [third to GTA].
FIRST Call of Duty game to allow Co-Op (and on PC!)
FIRST Call of Duty game to have extensive gore, without mods.

I happily admit there are down points to the game, but Modern Warfare had just as many, if not more, although both sides of the fence could argue that WaW is run on the MW engine, thus most errors are due to continuity.

The game is running on a NEW engine, which required them to input MP vehicle coding, co-operative scripting, mobile bipod weapons and other things into the engine themselves. These features will undoubtedly be reclaimed by Infinity Ward and used in MW2.

Relating this all back to companies.
Infinity Ward are just as bad as getting patches out to the community. Treyarch have very little community directed support, but few individuals can get inside info with a community employed member of their team (forgotten his name), how much support are you going to get from a dim-witted and uninformed community relation manager, "402".

Call of Duty is a dying breed, lets hope something crops up and becomes worthy of following (RTCW2, maybe one day), as neither of these games are of my interest any more, I only defend against ill-informed and poor arguments.

Thanks for summing up what I've been saying since CoD2. :P

Well CoD2 was awesome.

Thing about CoD5 is... the maps are really nice when you simply look at them and walk through them. But playability is a whole different story. It's simply unplayable.

Compare gameplay to maps like Brecourt, Carentan, Harbor and many more. Those were pure awesome maps because they weren't that huge. They were great for team play. At time you might even think to not shoot a guy in matches to give your position away. Because the maps were small, you had to take much more decisions. There's hardly anywhere to run since most teams can predict where the last guy is. Nowadays in CoD5 it's pretty much impossible. There's thousands of routes to take compared to older maps.

Harbor has 2 ways. Brecourt has 2, Carentan has 4 if you count the basement. How many does Outskirts have ? Over 9000! Airfield, still one of the 'smaller' maps yet it's large has lots of ways aswell (Although it's my fav map). CoD5 maps are just designed to be big, that's not how it should be. Small but nice.

Hey, where's that last guy? The amount of paths he could have taken is over 9000!
I've never heard a truer statement.
that's a nice pic and all, but out of all the pictures you could have taken why'd you take a picture of a plant? :P
-Soviet
Because plants have some really small details. If a plant comes out nice in a photo, you have yourself a good camera ;)
-Drofder 2004
Yes, but if boobs come out really well in a photo you have a picture of boobs

Yep, I have to admit. I am reviewing from a "team deathmatch" stand point here.

vCoD: Medium Paced, tactics required. Rushing every round was a sure fire way of getting owned.
CoD2: Nade and rush, nade and rush. This is the game that Killed off my clan and our paced game style.
CoD:MW: Nade, Rush, Spray, Nade, Rush, Spray. Tactically void gameplay.
CoD:WaW: Less nades, more rushing. Less spraying, more getting shot from random positions.

As a CoD clan only, looking at these games and their progressions, they are become 'arcade' console, shoot 'em ups. Bring back CoD, same processing engine, new graphical engine and re-release with all the original maps (no tigertown >.>)
