trouble with single player demos (COD4)

Post by Innkeeper » January 3rd, 2009, 4:51 am

i took some single player demos, and when i go to play them back, the game loads about 1/3 of the loading bar, then cod4 exits, with no error message or anything like that.

how can i get my single player demos to work?

i run xp, and the game does not show up in task manager for ctrl alt delete after it crashes.

i tried safe mode, converting the demos to multiplayer demos but neither worked

ye if you record demos in sp they will save to the demos folder in your main folder.... they are type .spd files (im assuming that stands for single player demos) i try looking up this problem but all i get are results for the cod4 pc demo lol

Try playing them with CoD4 Demo Player http://www.cybopat.net/vb_cod4player_eng.php

I would test but I really can't be bothered.

Single player demos have never worked. I believe they exist for development reasons and not our convenience.

Jim, are you suggesting recording in one game and playing back in another?
If so, that is impossible. When you record a demo, you are not flat recording your screen, you are recording virtual entities, movements, gun fires, etc. This allows us to go thridperson and move the cam around.
