Copying install.

Hello my dad has just bought me an 120gb hard drive and i have my cod 5 and cod 4 install on my other hard drive. My dad keeps telling me to copy my game installs from the small hard drive to the 120gb hard drive will it work if i do ?

I don't think it will. Surely it'd just be quicker to install the game using the CD anyway?

It shouldn't work, because of all the registry entries etc the game creates...

I thought it would Geesh my dad getting told by a 15 year old sevral times it wont work ! :)

it works - you have just to reenter your cdkey and maybe modtools install won't work but it should work

Copying CoD4 works, I've done it. :)
I don't know about CoD5 though.

I've done the same. The shortcuts obviously don't work so I always go in into the CoD4 or 5 folder and click on the launch icon. It works for both SP and MP.

Its called a desktop install and it works for nearly all games.

The only required registry keys are created upon game being run, not installed.
I have always had 2 of every CoD game installed.

1 for gaming, 1 for modding.
