I wouldn't say "too hard" is a reason, but it's mainly due to people being either:

a) too busy
b) can't be bothered
c) don't have CoD4
d) no longer jump / jump less than before
e) are working on normal maps

I was actuly referring to any mapping at all not just jump maps...

I guess thats true because cod4 is such a demanding game alot of people who played cod1 cant play cod4

Well I'm probably going to convert my map to cod4 after I finish it for cod2 so you can count on at least one jump map being released for cod4(if it gets released on cod2).

Compare the amounts of map made for CoD4 with the amount in CoD2 or 1.

CoD4 IS lacking, the reasons are:
- CoD4 mapping IS harder.
- Lack of support for mappers
- Lack of communication on a general basis with Dev's leave no inspiration
- Due to the level of problems in the past with custom servers, more people have rejected moving their servers to customs (than compared to CoD1, which was mostly custom mods)
- Mappers have lost their home (IWNation was killed by IWForums, and now IWForums have merged with CharlieOscarDelta forums, killing them.)

There are many reasons, but it is a fact there is a very low level of good criteria maps being produced.

don't forget the problem that jump maps have with fps. The typical mappers who would be releasing their quality jump maps suddenly have to start rethinking it. If they add too much detail, the fps drop is too low. They have to find a balance that works. And that is not easy.

That kind of comment would have normally made me annoyed, Nightmare, but I've gotten used to your sadistic ways of staying in obsolete games and realise that really the joke is upon yourself.
