performance issues.

performance issues.
a friend of mine told me that you were knowlageable people therefore he suggested i asked here about my little problem.
now, i have two computers both have cod4 installed on them.
i have one with a 2.3ghz dual core processor with a nvidia GeForce 7500 and vista
and another with a 3ghz single core processor with a nvida GeForce 7600 and XP
however, the first runs at about 40fps, and the second runs at 60 fps. (both using the same graphics settings)
in my mind this should be the other way around, leading me to assume the first PC simply isn't utilizing the dual core part, or vista sucks. or is there some thing i've missed totally?
this is really confusing me and any insight/help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: performance issues.
Graphics card means a lot. Chances are the 7600 is boosting that fps a bit, maybe 5-10. The rest is probably just due to vista.
Re: performance issues.
ergh vista, i was afraid of that. i understand that there would be some slight difference between graphics card but since they're so similar i assumed it was either the operating system or the processor due to the large difference in FPS.
thanks.
thanks.
Re: performance issues.
s'not my fault, the pc came with vista on it.

staples! meh, it was a cheap pc that had what i wanted in it (except vista, wasn't too keen on it but i didn't think it would make that much difference... (yes, yes, laugh it up))
