Just went on a server and he was obviously cheating.

Then he started to do some kind of scanning. Few moments later he thanked us for our CD Keys.
Can anyone explain me wtf that is ?

The cheater is PappaCap obviously.

Yeah, it just looks like some fake binds he would have made.

He did used an aimbot. And when he typed he seemed pretty mature so I'm guessing in its 20s...

I just hope it's fake

Some guy was at the codjumper server some time ago, being an ass, so i banned him. 5 min. later he was back with new guid and IP. Banned him again, but he got back again, etc.
He told me he would get my cd key too, but it didnt really turn out to be fucked up or anything. But things like that are possible i guess.

I highly doubt it is possible to get the CD key from client to client over a server like that. The only way I could think of it is if he owned the server, which doesn't seem very likely.

I thought your CD key is only ever sent to the master server, to check it's real and then if it is, you can join servers, it would be a stupid idea to send players CD keys to a server...

Obviously fake :S If a CDkey scanner existed, why would it put messages in global?

A minute before that a guy asked WTF he's on that server. The cheater then said to piss you all off.

Another guy then said he's reported to PB. The cheater made a reply something in the lines of ''Report this'', followed by those scanning crap. As if he's tring to say that you can report him all you want, he got our CD Keys, so if he gets banned, he can simply continue on our CD Keys. That's what he's trying to say.

As I said before.. some one on the codjumper server did it.. he got banned, got a new guid/cd-key/ip and was abled to get in again.. And its not like he got the game twice, i banned him like 10 times and he got back in no sweat every time.
He also said he would get my guid eventually so i would ban myselve. And he told me he got my cd-key and the next time i played my cd-key was in use (this could be coincidence because it happened before). Dont have any problems now though, besides the fucking pb error.

Here is a screenshot:

I cut out just his info so i dont have to post a lot of players' ip's here.

He could just have a Keygen or many copies of the game.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to steal other peoples CD keys ingame.

My guess is a cheap attempt at a hoax...

I have done lots of research, such as searching huge hacking sites and forums and NOTHING remotely close to this has come up, not even an enquiry...

There is currently only 2 ways (I know) of stealing a CD-KEY...

1) Virtually. Sending a fake file (CoD2God.exe was the most common) and steals it from registry.
2) Physically. Those who works in gaming shops have access to every CDKEY, also this has been known to happen in Internet (gaming) Cafes.

The CDKEY is stored in the registry, the game has NO access to the CDKEY, Punkbuster requests the key from your PC, not the game.

there are ways of getting around bans on servers, but none of these (from what I have found) involve stealing a players cdkey.
This doesn't mean it is impossible...

Cheers Drofder.

Can safely say that I won't get any problems.
