How Did You Get Your Name (HDYGYN)

Post by Nightmare » October 13th, 2006, 9:10 pm

Ok, I was just wondering how everyone has gotten their name and why they picked it.

As for me: (ahem)
When I first started my online playing adiction I was playing Battlefield 1942 (Rock on!). Took me about a week to think about a good name and I decided to go with "Your worst nightmare". It was a great name and I used it everywhere. Then I met CoD, and still kept the same name and there after a few weeks of playing, I met a cool guy who decided to make a clan togther. When I put the tag on I found out that CoD didnt like long names. So I decided to shorten it down to Nightmare which it has stayed for over 3 years now and is well known by many people in the CoD community.
The End.

I'll do Luke's:
His mom picked it for him :P

well for me, it was summer holidays, sun blazing, and the cool swift breeze blowing every now and again. The birds in the trees singing to the warming heat rays climbing away from the bacl dense tarmac, on the busy summer roads. Well anyway, i had just been into the local newsagents to pick up a cooling fresh ice pole, when i found five pound note. It was kind of muddy, maybe the water had dried and left earth stains on it, i dont know, but i picked it up, and walked back into the shop. I bought two more icepoles and a cold drink. The sun was starting to get to me, so i found a shady spot under a tree, and sipped on my drink.

Suddenly, a leaf hit my head, and thats when it struck me. My name was now Marshall.

We (me and my brother) didnt want a kickass name like pulverizor or something, but we wanted something original/funny. We had like Kenny (how original :roll: ) and cudles (happy tree friends character). Then my brother made it ai caramba, at first i started thinking of new names, but I couldnt think of any ones I like, I changed the colors like this ai caramba and kept it that way ever since.. And now, i wouldnt wanna change it anymore since no one else has this name and I think its a name people will remember very easily. They will remember it like: hey, that guy was constantly on top a few weeks ago too :P

used to be campin_carl, but i hated copying a name out of a flash. im a pretty unoriginal person. at the time i had a very strong obsession with the ussr so i just went with that.

What an honour ;)

We've kinda already had this topic ages ago, but I'll post my reason anyway.

I have a parrot called Pedigree, who we call Peds for short, and for some reason (I have no idea why) I added 'dude' on the end of it, hence 'Pedsdude'. Had I been chosing a name now I wouldn't have come up with it because I don't like the word 'dude', but with the prefix of 'Peds' I think it works well.

Short and sweet...

Surname = Redford
Backwards = Drofder.

The 2004 part has stuck only because alot of usernames are required to have numbers, although has nothing to do with the year the name was thought up, htat was jsut the one I used most often frm my old hotmail account.

Ive seen it a few times, but only when 'fans' :P copied it from me.. Or when ppl on the jump server tried to pretent to be an admin. Was pretty funny one time, i was using some random undercover name and some guy claimed he really was ai caramba..

Didn't he tell us what it was anyway in the past? I never knew his surname as Redford, I thought it was just because of that actor :?
