jm_woods, the first part. You test it!

Hi

After my first map mp_run im started with my second map. jm_woods. It all happens in a big wood so you can guess.

Here some info:
You will have to climbing a big rock, walk over rope bridges, find hiden doorways, go search for ruines and most import to descover them and find the hiden artifact.

I'm not the best jumper so i decided to give every time a peace of the map so you can say me if it is to easy of to hard. See it like a Beta test.

These things i already know to fix
-lightning
-terain meshes dont close everywhere
-The map isn't good closed so you can see wen youre on top of the rock, outside the map

So please let me know if i need to make some harder jumps, and if you have found any bugs. Sugestions are always welkome

start is good ofcourse im helping him like his first map :P gonna be a good jump map ( good idea's )

Very nicely done, there are a few jumps to fix but I can see where its going. Keep up the good work :wink:

But do i need to make the jumps harder wen your going in to the rock ? Ore is it good so. On the rock there are 3 ore 4 jumps hard for me(read: cant make them the first time) And the rest isnt that hard. So harder ore not?

It depends what group of jumpers you're targeting really. Every time you make a jump harder you cut more people out of it, so it's a matter of deciding whether you want to make it a beginner map, a medium map, or a pro map.

First of all, very nice map so far, looks very professional. Secondly, I think the jumps do need to be made harder. The hardest ones are perfect difficulty (although maybe keep some easier ones to keep everyone enjoyed). In my opinion the majority of the jumps are way too easy (but in the end it depends on what your target audience is, as I said).

One other point to add, I would recommend adding more things at the start to make it less obvious where to go. I like the way that you have to think about where to go (i.e. on barrels, onto truck, onto roof, over wall), but the fact that there is pretty much nothing else in that area makes it obvious where to go.

Also I noticed near the start of the rock wall that you can go into it and look through the other side. Have a look at the following screenshot to see what I mean: http://img182.imageshack.us/img182/1334/shot0003fm0.jpg

Anyway, overall it looks very good so far, and I look forward to more updates from you on it (including more versions to test :D).

I just finished playing this map and I think you are off to a very good start with it. I agree that the jumps should be made a bit harder but it is still very fun the way they are now. I really like how you make it seem like you are jumping on the rocks and not just on some platform sticking out of them.

Also now that you are at the top of the rocks what are you planning on doing with the next part?

Thnx for the info. The nextpart i make it somthing harder. I can always change it if its to hard. I was planning to make a little trainings part if youre over the wall. That screenshot: You mean wen youre on the rock than youre head gets in the rock? Can you show it me with some more screans because i can't see it that good. And if i have the nextpart finished i will post it here.

Im planning wen youre on the top of the rock you can get inside. And you will fall into a hiden ruïne/tempel. And need to jump in there. After that you will get outside. Thats all i gona say 8) :D So maby i post some screens of the ruïne/tempel today.

And also look somtimes on my site i will post the screens there. I only post the best screens here.

Hmm yeah i see what you mean if youre like one level higher its also there. How can i fix that its a terain mesh?

Oke got some new screens from the tomb. The lighting isn't good because i didn't compile with a sky box. So if the tomb is finished i will add some lights and compile it so that you can test it :)
