My ipod has unfortunately broken (hard disk problem - took it to repair store and they said it would cost £200 to repair), so I'm looking to buy a new one., with the following properties:
- Video
- >20 GB space
- FM Radio
- Large battery life (at least 20 hours)
I have done my research, and found that a Cowon iAudio X5L would suit me perfectly (it has got very good reviews on a number of sites), and I am most likely to go for the 30 GB version from Amazon (which is only £7 more expensive that the 20 GB version for some reason

).
Does anyone know of any other similar mp3 players which I may like?

Correction, iPod videos have 30 GB which holds
alot more than you think it can. I don't really know any other MP3 Players that would be good, so try the iPod video

Ha... ha... hahahahaha
I'm aware of how much space each one holds. I have just under 10 GB of music, so I will want it at least 20 GB preferrably (for space for new music and if I wish to use it to hold other files).
I don't reckon I'll be going with iPod for a while to come - 1 year warranty, I had my iPod for 18 months and it'll cost the same amount of money to repair it as I bought it for! iPods have unbelievably shit battery lives - this mp3 player I'm likely to get has 30 hours battery life compared to the iPod Video's 14 hours battery life (which is likely to go WAY down in a short period of time).
Apple's specifications specify a battery life of 10 hours for the 1st and 2nd generation iPod, 8 hours for the 3rd generation iPod and 1st generation iPod mini, 12 hours for the 4th generation iPod and iPod shuffle, 15 hours for iPod photo, 18 hours for the 2nd generation iPod mini, 14 hours for the iPod nano and 30GB iPod video, and 20 hours for the 60GB iPod video

It just stopped working. A few weeks before it broke it would play 10 seconds of some songs, freeze for 10 seconds, then skip to the next song. I was listening to my ipod one time and it did that, but turned off. It never turned back on
So I've decided to leave the iPod scene, partly on the fact that they have such shit repair services (£200 to repair a £200 iPod? You're taking the piss), partly because they have shit battery life (the mp3 player I just bought has
35 hours battery life), partly because they don't have radio, and partly because of the fact that people tend to look at ipods and ignore what else the market has to offer just because (which is better value for money).
I've ordered an iAudio X5L 20 GB from the link below:
http://www.iaccessorise.com/mp3-players ... play-20gb/
£219 for a 20 GB mp3 player with all those features, BARGAIN!

It's not that... I just cba. I'm already in a battle with 02 over my phone recall, and might be getting a se k750i for free

(well, not free... I paid £170 for my phone which they've stopped me from using against my will..). Also I want a new one before I go on holiday, and there's no way i'm going to be able to sort it out with them in that amount of time. Now that i've ordered this mp3 player, it should arrive on Tuesday at the latest!

You can easily win over any Phone company. Simply tell them you are not happy with their service and you are going to move to TMobile (or whatever). They have enough money to give away freebies, and they are willing to do so to ensure they keep their customers, I have seen it work with contract and P.A.Y.G, and in the case of a contract yearly upgrade, ask for their current best phone...
