Hurt on falling object

Post by Moriar » March 12th, 2006, 8:13 pm

Hello,

My idea is to make an icicle which will drop right onto the player if it stands right under it.
I've made the icicle but it will just drop down till it hits you, it stops and it doesn't hurt. This is my question:
How can I make it happen that the object hurts you? that also fixes the "stop problem"

Thanks in advance,
Moriar

well, you would have to create a seperate hurt trigger at the same spot as the icicle that does enough damage to instantly kill. Then you would have to script that hurt trigger to fall simultaneously with the icicle. At least, that is how i would try to do it...though it depends on how your making the icicle move. If you are using a script_model for the icicle then i am not sure it is possible...so basically wait for someone smart like drofder to get on

That doesn't work, you can't make a hurt trigger move, I know how to do it, but i'm not sure if drofder wants to tell everyone yet(it was his idea). we'll see what he says :P

The answer is somewhere on Modsonline.com
I posted it there as a method of anti-glitching lifts. If you can find it, you can use it...

The link is also somewhere in this section...

Completely off-topic...

I have a program called Windowblinds and I use a theme called neOS.
