hehe, since im too lazy to right somethin all over again, ill just copy and paste this from what i wrote one time about where i stand concerning modern education-
I have begun to get to the point where i really am incapable of comprehending this concept of education. These children of the mere ages of around 6 all the way up through their teens are forced to attend 7 hours of school a day. Afterwards in later grades they must spend several more hours working on homework, usually they spend longer working on certain classes homework than they spent in that actual class. The achievement of education i can see in places such as Math, but other things like literature that will in no way effect your destined career path make absolutely no sense to me.
You listen to your parents talk about all these wonderful childhood experiences, and then you look back and see that all you've done is nonstop schooling and that there won't be much to tell your kids if you ever have any. Over a few mere decades the amount of free time and enjoyment given to children in between education has dramatically decreased. When it is inquired the purpose of the hardness of the curriculum, the answer because this is what it is like in real life. If this is the case, perhaps "real life" should be lessened in difficulty. Unless your one of a few minor religions, you only live in this world once. So instead of preparing us for the real world, perhaps the educational department should realize that children want to enjoy their childhoods, and not condemn them to torment.
And as said before, unless you are with only a few certain religions you only live once on this world. So they take 12 years (and many more if you go to college) to devote to education. 12 years is roughly 1/7 of your life. And it is said to be the most fun time of your life. What do you believe happens when you die? Even if all that knowledge stays with you, it won't be of much use, either reincarnated as a fly, being tormented in Hell, or being with mother nature for eternity. I understand fundemental knowledge is necessary, but why have fundamental knowledge in meaningless subjects you will never pursue like Shakespeare or Ancient Egyptian history? Wouldn't it be better to go through about secondary level fundamentals then merely study what you wish at your own pace, and for god's sake cut down on the homework, as it is ridiculous to give children 7 hours of school, but find a sneaky way to give them 3 more hours outside of school to work. Whats the point in going through all this meaningless education if its not gonna matter in about 80 years anyway?
