I am not sure how you actually turn the Mods off - there does not appear to be any way of doing that from the main menu. However, I have repeated the exercise with CoD and the only Mods showing in the folder were CoD Multiplayer and UO - both of which I assume are there from the moment you install.

If this file does not work, then I may have to reinstall to clean out my folders.

Thanks again

Ok, the demo works fine this time, it tends to happen in UO more than CoD because of all the weapon mods, and I think all you can do is move the mod out of the main/uo folder.
I checked your demo, and I think thats a good start, but to get more distance I think you will need more of a mouse flick, try starting at more of an angle to give yourself room to flick the mouse.

Brilliant, thanks Luke

I am sure you are right, I used to start and a wider angle but found it more difficult, over time the angle has become more and more acute. I will get practising with the wider angle and see if that helps me glide further.

Cheers for the comments - very helpful!

My technique has changed a lot since i made the 257 record, it has taken awhile for it to improve tho, but i was playing son-of-bitch earlier and i did the 255 jump 3 times in 30 minutes! and i said omfg 3 times lol..the 3rd time someone was spectating me too so that was cool...it feels good, i wasnt sure about this technique at first but it seems to work! i'm gonna try to make a 255 demo soon to show my new technique :D

Hehe, you're too good tbh :P The best I've ever done is 250 on peds_practice on my own pc (which I have a demo of as evidence ;)).

Yeah some of those jumps were a bit ridiculous lol, some of which i managed to do like once so i thought i'd see what u make of them, but i've made quite a lot of changes after u and leveller tested it so its not so hard

Luke

Took your tips to the training ground. Did not seem to be able to flick the mouse quick enough to stop me drifting to the side. However, after much experimenting, I sussed out that by pressing the strafe key earlier than I had been previously, I can get the angle and jump straight. My jumping has improved immensley. Just had a shot on Peds_practice and, while I am still a bit behind you boys, managed to jump 241 with the new technique (took a while). Anyway, thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated.

My little tip for other inexperienced jumpers amongst us is to set yourself up at 45 degrees or more to your intended landing zone, give yourself plenty room, start moving forward, then concentrate on pressing and holding the strafe key (in my experience, it does not appear to matter how long you keep this pressed - within reason!). When you get to the end of your take-off flick the mouse to point at where you want to land and jump at the same time. Keeping the mouse pointed downwards (not right down) means you do not need to flick as far and also lets you see exactly where to take off.

However, the best advice if you are stuck is to ask the experts and view their demos.

I agree with that advice i guess..with my new technique i go off at almost 90 degrees and use much more room than i used too lol, but thats just me.

Another thing, when you do your best jump whatever it may be, it could actually be a bit further than you think, as you could've jumped a couple units early or landed a couple units further and you wouldn't know about it
