Interesting CoD2 finds

Post by Drofder2004 » October 28th, 2005, 2:59 am

Bombzones:
classname trigger_multiple
targetname bombzone
script_gameobjectname bombzone
script_bombmode_original <if defined this bombzone will be used in the original bomb mode>
script_bombmode_single <if defined this bombzone will be used in the single bomb mode>
script_bombmode_dual <if defined this bombzone will be used in the dual bomb mode>
script_team Set to allies or axis. This is used to set which team a bombzone is used by in dual bomb mode.
script_label Set to A or B. This sets the letter shown on the compass in original mode.
This is a volume of space in which the bomb can planted. Must contain an origin brush.

These are the variables used inside the mapping portion of the game, but look at these line...

script_bombmode_original <if defined this bombzone will be used in the original bomb mode>
script_bombmode_single <if defined this bombzone will be used in the single bomb mode>
script_bombmode_dual <if defined this bombzone will be used in the dual bomb mode>

Normal Mode (Stock vCoD SD)
Single Mode (1 Objective)
Dual Mode (1 per team)

the one that interests me obviously is dual mode...
"script_team - Set to allies or axis. This is used to set which team a bombzone is used by in dual bomb mode."

Sounds like a geat idea! A lot more strategic gametype, sorta like CTf, but with blowing things up :P

Another interesting read...
I just read the part of the script that does Health regeneration. from what I have read, your health cannot always regen to full. So basically if your Very Hurt, you will have a health cut off point (a maximum regen amount, e.g half).

I was hoping this was the case, as health regen imo is crap, especially if you can fully regen from low. This makes me feel a little bit happier on the regen idea :P

its good and bad, good for jumping, bad for playing. Its awesome in jumping cause technically if your health forever regenerates to full, you can just keep on nade jumping and just wait for your health to go back up

Iw says it is possible, but you will need to retexture everything (and also, maybe redo all the patch and terrain) but the building (brushes) will be the same.

Hmmm, idea for a mod ;)

I expect someone will steal the idea, so I wont post it :P

You posted the idea of it, so someone could theoretically steal it (if they managed to work out how to do it).

actually it already seems to be like that. I can do 3 consecutive nade jumps and just wait for the red around the screen to go away and im fine
