Just wanna drop this here (Portal Mod)
Hey Guys,
I just got done finishing a releasable version of my Portal Mod!

I started working on this mod about 3 years ago, but had it on ice for a year.
A friend told me I should finish it, so here it is.
I had hoped being able to add so much more, but it needs to be released sometime.
I had planned releasing this as an open source mod, but then you can always decompile and read the code.
I'll also try uploading some code to the moddb page.
The code and commenting got messy to the end, since I was under time pressure, but should not contain any mistakes nonetheless.
Why am I posting this here?
I've been a jumper for a long time and this is where I first came in contact with modding.
I started off having no clue about scripting and had just learned about vectors.
I learned about everything by opening topics here and asking the community.
(This project also helped me ALOT in math, making what we were learning at school look easy)
Here's one of my first topics where I needed help (just felt like sharing this)

Since then I have been bothering Izno on a daily basis.
I hope you guys can maybe find some cool jumps and maybe make some videos.
Sadly, I didn't have enough time to implement a savemod for the cj fans,
since my flight is leaving tomorrow and I haven't packed a thing
I also probably won't be available for contact in near future, but hope everything goes well and there are no complications.

Looks well done, I have a couple of questions though.
If you are happy for people to decompile or were willing to have it open-source and you though about adding the save mod to it, would it not be possible to directly add it to the CJ mod via IWD and the addon file?
How limiting is the file?
For example, CJ mod does not work on City Streets, due to the limitations of the game - does this push anything close to the various limits.

hm yea, I haven't thought about that.
Although it does use parts of the globallogic and other files in maps these wouldn't be necessary for the cj mod.
What limits are we talking about, I haven't encountered any?
Cj does not work on citystreets?
If I get to it, I'll try and upload the complete source.

A lot of the larger mods will not work on a few stock maps, can't remember if this was due to DVAR limit or a variable limit.Nekoneko wrote:hm yea, I haven't thought about that.

I don't think I would ever get back into modding, so even with the source it would be up to someone else to attempt to trim it down and put it within the mod.

CJ mod doesn't work on City Streets (District)? I seem to remember I've been trying to get out of the map with The President for a long time, on a CJ server.

Yeah the only problem I have found with Citystreets and the CJ mod is that you cannot play demos in it. So if you record a bounce using the CJ mod you cannot then rewatch the demo using it. You have to copy the demo to a different mod to watch it.
