Terrain/Curve patch not entirely showing through brush

Post by Pedsdude » November 20th, 2010, 8:03 pm

http://www.xfire.com/video/3b38aa/

I've tried it with terrain and curve patches, and it's the same outcome each time. What you're basically seeing is 4 curve patches on the ceiling (with their faces downwards).

Any idea why this is happening and how to resolve it? I could just use separate brushes to give the same effect, but for obvious reasons I'd rather use a patch.

Just doesn't look like it fits tbh.

Could check the Lightmaps on it, but doubt it would make a difference.

What do you mean by "doesn't look like it fits"?

The texture... doesn't look like it fits.

Try making the terrain, then splitting the patch to make many dquare patches, then fit the texture to each individually.

you can split patches with CTRL+SHIFT+X if my memory is correct.

Oh right, well it's just a solid white texture so I see no reason for it to not fit, but I'll try as you suggested, and if it still doesn't work then I'll just go with separate brushes.

OK, well I selected one of the terrains and did split, but nothing happened.

I'll do separate terrain brushes for each 'square' as you described it, and if that still fails (which I doubt it will) then I'll do the brush option.

Good. another method had I known you were using a line per section, would have to simply set it to natural and then use the stretch, to stretch it beyond the boundaries around the patch.
