Sorry, I wasn't positive on whether or not you did and I didn't want to make a slip up when pointing people out. Pres does as well.

Re: Best part of winter olympics
Maybe if I was on the team I would think different - well spoken team members are positive signs, and one person who has difficulty spelling I dont mind - also may have been cause I've been round so long - but I really don't mind at all about matt's spelling...
I understand you guys on the team might feel differently - it isn't the end of the world though - and matts contributions should overpower his spelling ability.

Regardless he has a spell checker and should be dedicated enough to simply right click on red underlined words and select the proper choice.

Guys i don't go to oxford or some genius college/university.. Im not a geek/boffin/nerd like the rest of the team, and yes you all are except pres.. I don't no shit, i just help, isnt that wat a team member is about? helping people? i think ive probably helped more people in codjumper than alot of the team has.. Tbh its a bit unfare. If you kick me from the team for not being able to spell, you will lose lots of respect from me and about 1000 people.

Re: Best part of winter olympics
I think you guys should just look pass the fact that his spelling isn't his strongest point. I can understand it might be annoying sometimes but he does a lot of things to make up for that.
Don't just look at what you see on the forum, you have to look at the total picture.

I find that to be a naïve post, really..Hoogie wrote: Don't just look at what you see on the forum, you have to look at the total picture.
It's been explained by some team members over and over again now.
To keep it simple:
When they invited Matt, they made an agreement that is binding and essential to a good cooperation.
This agreement has now been broken by one side. The other side has the right to claim recovery of the agreement.
That is enough already. But if you still want to look at the big picture, some details can have a certain level of importancy that it inflicts the big picture.

Re: Best part of winter olympics
If im correct they asked Matty to use spellchecker after they invited him to the CJ team. They knew his spelling isn't his strongest point. Still they asked him. And to be fair, he has already improved since he joined the team. Im sure that over time he'll become better and better.

No, we specifically said he could join the team if he made and continued to make a strong effort to improve his spelling. Does that mean his spelling has to be perfect? no. Does that mean he has to try? yes.

Re: Best part of winter olympics
I did use the fucking spell checker for a while, it still managed to suck. U still told me to use it even when i was using it!!!!! Fare enough me being here you have gained some stuff? if u kicked me, what would you gain?.. It is a bit of a silly agreement. Fare enough i said i would improve, and yes i did slightly. But you didnt say if i cant spell u would kick me. I wil find the chat log (when im at my mums) and prove it.

Re: Best part of winter olympics
Agreed. Did you know that I typically end up proofreading then editing almost every single post I make two to three times after posting?* In fact, I typically reform the phrasing of my sentences multiple times and not at all infrequently completely redo paragraphs that I dislike simply for the purpose of flow. That means on average it takes me three times longer to make a single post than a large number of our forum members. I do this for three reasons; for both the sake of professionalism in regard to the site, to appear to have some semblance of intelligence, but foremost beyond those previous two I do it to provide a level of respect and courtesy to all the forum members that will be reading my posts. Regardless of the amount I may smack you or others about with joking sarcasm or mockery, and regardless of the amount that I really do dislike members like Zipperdude or Lancast most of the time, at the end of the day I still respect them as individuals and therefore attempt in all instances to give them a post that is easy to read, regardless of what they might or might not give in return.
We are, of course, not asking for even close to the amount of dedication I put into my posts, but meeting us halfway (not even close to that, honestly) would not only benefit the team's supposed lofty goals to be the kings of the internet with our mighty thing called spelling and grammar, but it would also show that you are willing to actually step up and be part of the team. It really isn't a big thing to ask that you go through your posts and right click on highlighted words, or press two extra keys so as to type you instead of "u", in fact it really wouldn't be a lot to request proper grammar in your sentences either but we haven't even gone that far. In reality, your refusal to spend 5 to 10 seconds right clicking on obvious, red, underlined words and picking the word that you actually meant is a blatant insult towards what you consider the team to be, especially when many of us put in such vast amounts of time just so that people we may not even hold in that high of esteems have an easier read.
For the record I used spell check 18 times during the course of this post, made close to 40 grammar and sentence structure corrections, rewrote the second paragraph twice, rewrote half of the first paragraph, and rephrased about 6 different sentences once or twice in some cases. I also ended up editing this post about 6 times with various corrections and additions. In all I think this single, 3 paragraph post took close to possibly 20 minutes. Please, just spend ten seconds on spelling and let this be over.
* If you don't believe me feel free to ask Peds or KS to pull up some of the logs of the edits I do as I'm pretty sure they can actually view what was there before I edited it

Re: Best part of winter olympics
I don't care what people think of my spelling, at college they moan (but it dosen't mater as im training to be an electrition), but it's 1 of those things i should of leant a long time ago. The long words sometimes are ok, it's just the shorter words that can have different meanings. And also you sai di would have to improve on my spelling, and i think i probably have slightly? Also for the last 2 weeks i have been at my dads where i don't want to download a spellchecker and put it on his internet. It's not my pc to fuck around with. Why do u (by the was, i use U because everybody normaly does to save time) think my spelling is better when im at my mums?
