/record (Need help)

Post by skierdude66 » January 25th, 2010, 5:26 am

im on cod4 running version 1.7 (Mac)

when i type in

Code: Select all

/record 1
in the command prompt it starts to record with no problem. It says how big the files is getting and seems to go off without a hitch.
The problem is after i type in

Code: Select all

/stoprecording
and then proceed to type in

Code: Select all

/demo 1
it gives me the error
Image
I know i recorded it, i know i stopped it, and I see the files when i look in my computer's file structure. How can I fix this?

Big thanks in advance to whoever conquers this problem :D

I appreciate the help, but this did not work.

The file that your talking about was under

Code: Select all

Call of duty/Main/Demos/"File"
i moved it to

Code: Select all

/Applications/Games/game data/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 4 Data/Mods/modwarfare
and had no luck. I then tried

Code: Select all

/Applications/Games/game data/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 4 Data/players/profiles/skierdude/mods/modwarfare
and tried

Code: Select all

/demo 1
in cod again while in the modwarfare mod and had no luck. Any other suggestions, or did I do something wrong?

/Applications/Games/game data/Call of Duty 4/Call of Duty 4 Data/players/profiles/skierdude/mods/modwarfare/demos

That's the folder you need to put it in, I believe. I have windows XP, so I put it in a different place, but I believe that you just need to put it in a demos folder

The command is /stoprecord, not /stoprecording, so it's likely your demo file was never saved.

Good eye Peds.

But even then, shouldn't you have a very big demo file ? :P

try record a demo using letter only. Some internal engines do not correctly read files stored with numerals are first character...

but thats a long shot.

Make sure you put the demo file under a mod demos folder to view it back, e.g.

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\codjumper\demos\1.dm_1

Then make sure you load that exact mod, and /demo 1

The problem was that the demos that are recorded were going into the main demo folder (main/demo). I moved them into the codjumper mod folder and created a new sub folder called demos. I run the codjumper mod, type in /demo 1 and Eureka :D it worked.

Thanks for the help guys
