Slow Download

Ok can someone help me? My friend tryed to join my server and his download for the mod was like 6 minutes... can anyone help me make it faster?

6min. doesn't seem thát long to me. Check your download speed first. If it's a lot less than 200/300 kb/s, you can choose to copy the url in your browser. Another is option is you sending him the files.

When you say your server, do you mean your server that you bought? You need to set up HTTP redirect in the config settings so that he downloads off an external website. Is it your donated CoDJumper server? If so, you can use our redirect

Yea Peds u set up the config files for me. And yes it is donated to CJ. And the redirrect i use it from CJ and it is a VERY slow download. It goes 3kb. And when i said it takes 6 minutes... HAHAHA i was wrong it takes and hour and 6 minutes! >:{ . So can you help me set it up Peds?

No. For everyone. I seen lots of people try to come in and either get Timed Out, iw3mp has stoped working, or just left.

Ok, yeah if it's happening to everyone then there is a problem with the redirect it sounds like.

Reaper when you buy a server and set it up, by default it downloads the server files(mods/maps/etc) from the server itself, which has always limited download speed to 3kb/s or something like that. To have a fast download speed, you need another ftp, people in cod call it, redirect-ftp.

Well that won't work, you linked the ftp of codjumper, however, codjumper doesn't have your mod uploaded on their ftp, in other words, you cant use that. If you want to use your own mod, your own maps, you need your own redirect-ftp. If you don't have one and you can't get one, your last chance to have fast download would be to use the codjumper ftp, but then, you would have to use the mod its uploaded on codjumper which is codjumperbeta, and the maps that codjumper ftp has, you wouldnt be able to use anything beyond that.
If you want to setup the redirect from codjumper, put these lines in your server confing overwriting the old ones.

Then use the codjumperbeta mod on yourself and everything will work ok.

Ok so u said when i bought my server i have a Ftp. But now i have CJ's ftp. How do i get mine back?

The reason it isn't working is because you're not using the same mod as the CJ HTTP redirect (there is no ij_jump on our FTP).

Have a look around on your admin panel for something along the lines of 'HTTP redirect' or 'file hosting' or something similar. If you still can't find it, I could have a look for you (I think I still have the login details you gave me).

With the previous post when I explained to him what to do anyone that never even heard what a ftp was wouldn't ask as stupid question as he did...
Things involve me as much as you..You think that your admin so you so things only involve you? Maybe you could put a rule saying, only admins are allowed to answer on the forum.
