Modded Gun Camo

Post by Chaaos » June 3rd, 2009, 11:18 pm

Right, well how to people do it?

How hard is it to put stylish text on one side of a gold desert eagle? Just wondering because I want to use for an intro or something.

The text to be in black, like a stylish handwriting font. Saying "Chaaos".

Complete n00b at this, any help is appreciated thanks

You most likely won't be able to do it on one side. If skins for CoD4 are anything like skins for Source games, the game reflects said skin on both sides, meaning you'd have the text backwards on the other side.

Thank you!!

One question, how does the file know where 1 part of the gun ends and the next starts? :O

Okay two questions, if I just add text over the part I want, will it work that easily? I only really want the text on the inner side, so that you can see if clearly upon reload.

Thanks for that link, really helpful but can't try it out just yet

Sorry for double positing, but could someone do me a massive favour?

If I modded the file, and converted it, could someone do the recording in fraps? I get like 10FPS on full gfx :( Would just be killing someone with skinned deagle then reloading, thats it.

1. That's all in the model files I believe.

2. Any modification you make to the texture, upon properly packing and placing the file will appear ingame. That includes text.

You're supposed to drag the iwi file onto the converter.

k thanks. File edited and saved like it said.

When I drag and drop the new .dds file into the converter (dds2iwi-cod4), no new file is created.

EDIT: Wow I really need to try something before I post, fixed it.

Ok problem. At step 11, I moved the .iwi file into the ModWarefare file like it said (there was no images folder, i created one) but when i open make mod, it says (in cmd)

Error:
move file error
z_modwarfare.iwd.tmp17
z_modwarfare.iwd
Cannot create a file wen that file already exists.

Therefore the file isn't updated. I tried removing the file from ModWarfare (the iwd), it said it created it successfully, but no files appear.

I don't know, never really run into that issue. Check the modsonline.com forums, they might have something.
