lol, I wish my main connection was actually like that.
Might use it if I have to download a massive file to put on a pen drive, but other than that pretty useless as I'd save more time and money staying at home than travelling in to uni.

I actually used to have pretty crappy upload/download speeds, but then I upgraded my router and they greatly improved. It only cost me about $50 too, which is awesome.

Youtube HD videos lagging have nothing to do with bandwidth (assuming you let the video pre-load all the way).
The main factor is CPU load.
I was having the same problem when I found out Linux was limiting the CPU clock, so I sped it up and it runs smoothly now.
