What am I doing wrong?

I've also got best results with it set high. I got a razer diamondback mouse (1600dpi) and i usually have it on 7 or 8(out of 10), and i leave the game option for sensitivity on default.

Yeh, that those Razer mice are fecking sensitive.

Okay I made 240, it took 15 attempts in the demo, I'm still a little rough, but from teh jump that I make what can I do better?
My fps was at 250

so that's a start, gotta get that lower, but what can I improve on?

Ive got a logitech G5. Think i got it set at 1000 dpi.
