Jump maps which are not for record runs

Not all the jump maps available for download are suitable for record runs (for example, jm_clampdown, jumpville, peds_puzzle_race). I would appreciate it if people could post which maps should NOT be on the records page, and I will remove them accordingly.

Thank you in advance.

I will go through all the CoD2 ones know and give my opinions. On those. May start on coD1 also depending on time...
(Maybe we should havea sticky with all the maps, with their info on it, i.e Start and Finish (screenshot?) and if required, additional rules (eg, no saves, no nades, whatever).

Sounds like a good idea, although mainly for start/finish points, I feel. Saves and nades should be available for all maps (I can't think of an example where it shouldn't be allowed - we already have the rule that states nades can't be used for shortcutting).

Yep, that's a just in case anything comes up clause. :)

So far... (going in order of my downloads)

Lev_Facilities - Yes - Not for the faint hearted, but can be time trialled.
zp_supreme - No - not built for records.
son_of_bitch - Yes
bitch_save - Yes
jm_rod - Yes
jm_warehouse - Yes
mp_island - No - The scripted car/plane make this map a nightmare for recording.
zzz_jumpmania - No - My opinion, too much repetition and models for 1 map (imo, get a 2nd opinion).
mp_jimbojump - Yes
mp_henry - No - Again, my opinion is that its not fit for recording.

saves shouldnt be allowed in bitch and jm_milestone_pro...
Ehm, maybe u should make sepperate records for son_of_bitch [cod2], because the hardest version has been made for 250 fps (same as u did with railyard_jump).

Also, some maps should not be used YET.. son_of_bitch is not finished yet (hardest version had a bug). And lev_facilities (still had some bugs and shortcuts that leviathan wanted to remove).

yeah, i agree with you. also the maps with small bugs ( almost finnished) shouldnt really be used.

OK, I'll remove them from the records page for now. As for the 250fps difficulty levels, I think we should just keep them as the only version of the map/s available for record runs. The reasoning behind this is that the records page uses the maps database, which has railyard_jump as one single map, rather than easy, hard, ultra etc.

I am able to use railyard_jump and railyard_jump_ultra as two seperate maps for records on the records page because they appear as two seperate maps on the jump maps download page, whereas other maps do not. I think we should only stick with the very hardest difficulty levels of the maps because you'll get people with 250fps doing the railyard_jump_hard anyway, and we have a rule which states that 250fps is the maximum FPS allowed, plus the majority of the best jumpers (who are likely to have the best times) are able to get 250fps.

Oh and another one.

kd_gloom (CoD2).

After a while (Somewhere in the end) you get to an enormous room which goes up like 50 levels or so. It takes 30 mins to do that (It's copy and paste work). Unless you can get teleported from the bottom to the very top I'd say keep it. But for now, it's not even worth to start recording on it because it will take like 45 mins

I think it should be allowed! its still a start -> finish map, isnt it? Just your free will of taking the challenge.
