Don't you need to ask permission from the creators or doesn't it matter ?

Don't think so. As I don't edit the maps. Only being able to play 6 maps at max sucks! So putting it in a pack is better for some people!

I really don't like map packs. I don't understand why people make them anyway. Why couldn't you just have them on your server individually.

Ok then try to put them on the server individually. you'll have 6/8 maps at maximum and I hate it! Stupid cod2 bug :@

There are bugs which cause servers to crash if too many IWDs are in use on the server. Map packs are 1 of the few solutions.

Theres some sort of limit on the number of characters you can use, and they add up from all the iwd's, so i've heard. you could have a lot more iwd's if the names were very short, so i'm suprised this isn't mentioned more considering the name length a lot of the jump maps we got are. I'd suggest abbreviating the iwd filename.

If you want to make a map pack, use the maps on the jump maps download pages:

CoD1: http://www.codjumper.com/maps/index.php
CoD2: http://www.codjumper.com/maps/index2.php

Would the person not have to download the map again as the .iwd file is under a different name, or is it just the .bsp that matters?
