errm Peds I think Stype is basically a texture with added FX or something like that... for example: the ocean in mp_ship, you can see it as a texture/brush and it moves...

I think you can add scripted effects or something to things like that... but Drofder probably just used the ocean texture and made it look like lava... and I think the any FX like smoke are Stype?

^^ I dont actually know what a "stype" is, except I know its a filetype used for texture details in CoD. It can be used to create your own textures with your own effects (such as using Sine to create a wave

)
Steal my one from my pk3 and take a look.

stype means sorted type, you can use that or a shader file...i've only used a shader before on a glass texture, which basically tells the texture how to behave both in game and in radiant. In radiant i mean so that you can see it porperly in the editor.
I'd suggest reading these tutorials to help you better:
http://www.modsonline.com/index.php?mod ... ead&id=183 - to make custom water textures with a stype file.
http://www.modsonline.com/index.php?mod ... ead&id=244 - to make a custom glass texture with a shader file.
