Need help please :)

Post by Coby » December 21st, 2013, 7:13 pm

I am getting a pc soon, and i want to start playing cod 4 on the pc, for bouncing/glitching. I am wondering if i should purchase a controller that is compatible with pc, or if i should use the keyboard and mouse. if i should get a controller, any idea on which brand/name? thank you very much.

I think nearly everybody will agree with me that KB/M is the far superior option. If you're new to playing games on PC, it may feel weird at first and take a while to get used to, but it is easily the better option. There are also many easily accessible buttons that you can bind for fps switching and such, whereas on a controller I can imagine you would run out of buttons pretty easily. Not to mention when you want buttons to lean, type, etc.

Gamepad to play a mouse driven game? O_o

Buy a gamepad, they have their uses. CoD4 (or any FPS shooter) is not one of those uses.

I have one of those logitech controllers which support Xinput(the Xbox standard supported by all new games) but also have DirectInput(the old PC Standard) Its a cheap alternative to Mircrosofts Xbox Controller for Windows and has also more funtions(DirectInput) http://www.logitech.com/en-us/game-gear/articles/7442
I normally use controllers for couch-sessions with friends or alone. For FPS games like Cod...allways KB&Mouse
