Can't find the error in my compile

I can't quite figure out what's wrong with this thing. I've gone over the compile log several times, and while there are some oddities in it, google searching and checking the wikis isn't helping much.

It hangs at "Building Light transport for light sources", sometimes saying 100% and just sitting there for 10 minutes. There are no leaks, I have a light grid volume around the playable areas... I'm not sure what's wrong.

Does the map compile without lighting ticked?
Do you know the difference between structural and detail brushes? (If yes, are you using them?)
How large is your map?

2000 units high, 7000 units across by 8000 units across (approximately)

I do know the difference between structure and detail brushes, and right now it's all structures as there's no detail added. Very rough large pieces currently.

It does compile without lights, but either way when I go to create a fast file I get

I found the problem.

It seems... my headphones were not plugged in, so the multiplayer wouldn't work.

Upon going from my speakers to my headphones it no longer hangs while compiling, and the map works fine again.

This level editor is going to be something else compared to Hammer, isn't it?

I prefer Radiant to Hammer, but I have never used hammer to its full potential (or for more than a few hours) whereas I have spent years in Radiant.

So I've been told I should be changing compile options to "4" under the level compiling tab. I... don't see what they're talking about. Is there an option to turn on advanced compiling options anywhere?
