Getting kicked by an idiot for no reason

Post by Mace » August 3rd, 2012, 4:42 pm

First time registering here, but have been playing on the server for about a year under name bd2 | Mace.

Created this post to bring attention to a very childish and annoying person, called NBA Storm, who everytime I see him on the server, votes to kick people for 'blocking'; I have spectated, and they are not blocking at all. Also, today, I came into mp_noname, tried to do a jump, and he stood in the way repeatedly blocking, then I got vote kicked for blocking!

This is the 5th time this person has kicked me for this bullshit reason. Also, when he is kicking, he magicalluy gets about 5-6 bvotes to kick people out of nowhere.

Can somebody explain to me why this is happening? Getting very tired and bored of this little shit now.

Cheers

Unfortunately there's not much we can do about this unless you contact an admin at the time. List of admins is on the left hand side of the main page of the website (basically everyone in the Core and PC Team).

Also cap his actions with some screenshots, we dislike assholes. And people generally tend to hit F1 to vote yes. Which is not cool if no harm is done, but it happens all the time, atleast in my experience.

after you've voted you can actually do /reconnect and then vote again.... this works in the CJ vote and the console vote...

People caught doing that (especially to kick somebody) will be permabanned.

Can't it be fixed?

Would require some serious scripting work I guess.

Which Drofder would be glad to do.

Code starts when a vote is called:

Each time someone new connects add to a 'connected players' array(based on GUID). Catch every player that voted and set his 'has_voted' flag to true. When someone connects check the flag and allow/disallow voting for that player. When done voting, reset 'has_voted' flag for all players.

Not exactly a beginner script but shouldn't be that difficult to code.

I wouldn't bother with a connected players array, just assign every voters GUID into an array and compare it against all new voters, then flush it when vote ends.

However, I currently don't have the time or care to implement it (also, it doesn't help that I do not have any branches of the development, as I have done work that would need to be removed from my current unreleased version - or I would have to make sure all the code was working.
