Goodluck with your exams Goodluck. Yeah >_>
They are Virtuous names - the president of Nigeria is called Goodluck Jonathan (I assume the baby in this news story was named after him).

Some cultures have naming traditions where the baby is named after a characteristic or events during pregnancy. "Goodluck Jonathan" was called that because his father thought he was lucky.

Naming traditions are strange in many places for example Ghanaian "Kofi Atta Annan" - this name literally means "boy born on Friday, as a twin and fourth child".

Even us Europeans do it, 'Daniel' originally meant "God is my judge" in Hebrew, although not quite the same and not literal.

My name has a meaning aswell. But that's kinda different than what we see here.

Some people just don't think before naming their kid...

You are missing the point.

In European countries, we are named after others, those people were originally named after a meaning (usually Hebrew, Gaelic, Greek, etc).

In African countries (although many different regions - do have different traditions), they name after events (such as day of week, order of birth and even so much as bring born after the death of a relative) and hopeful characteristics (again, such as faith, joy, harmony and grace).

In Eastern Asia, the naming conventions are similar to Europeans but more complicated (especially with surnames), surnames precede firstnames and everyone is addressed by full name. This is why a lot of travelling Asians adopt English names (Jackie Chan's real name is Chan Kong-sang and Bruce Lee's is Lee Jun-fan).

Anyway, if you think "Goodluck" is an odd name, how about "Godsaveus"?

If he wanted to stop the kid playing without stopping the kid playing directly, just sabotage the internet wire or get access to the account and change the password...

You should post the whole sentence:
Valve, best known for the Half-Life, Left4Dead and the Steam online game store
What's wrong about that?

Fucking LOL. Although to be fair to them, they recorded this episode over 10 years ago and I honestly do not expect they watch every episode when decided which one to repeat.

"It is predicted" == utter bullshit. Basically it's a way of injecting the journalist's personal opinion in an indirect way(if no sources are cited, of course).

Female gamers = Wii-fit, angry birds, bejuweled(?), [insert every facebook "game"]
That isn't gaming, but to the press it is

This.

Its bullshit journalism created on the bullshit idea that "mobile gaming" makes you a 'gamer'.
Other similar examples of words that have changed.

Geek. Once meant 'computer hobbyist', now means 'wears glasses'.
Nerd. Once meant 'intellectual' (usually in Maths/Science), now means 'owns a computer' or 'plays games'.

Now you can be a gamer if you own a mobile phone.
