Your opinions on this PC?

Post by Coontang » November 15th, 2010, 8:47 pm

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/239782

I think it looks quite tidy for just over 200, would be used as an upgrade from an athlon 2.0ghz from about 2004. Looks easily expandable to higher RAM if needed, processor looks nice and speedy and also has a nice hard drive to go with it.

What do you guys think? I'm tempted to buy this and put my graphics card (geforce 6600) in it, and probably upgrade to a 9600/9800 or something over time.....

Depends on what you want to do on it. For the price, it looks decent in my opinion.

Its pretty good.
It says vista compatible but also says graphics is Win7 compliant O_o?
Also note it is SATA, so XP/SP2 or Win7.

You can even add a second memory stick in it for an extra boost.
Its definitly worth it, if you need a machine for doing your basic things (email/internet/word process) and depending on GFX power, maybe image/video editing?

I would try find out which motherboard it was using also.

I didn't fully read the post, but as a potential gaming rig, I would personally advise buying indivdual part. You will get a much better PC in the long run by selecting better components and for an extra £150 or so you could have a quite high-end gaming PC.

Oh, I was getting bored of jimbojetuk, and this name has become quite a nickname with me recently :P

Thanks for the advice anyways! For me, I'm not going to get this but my friend who has a shitty laptop at the moment really wants a computer, so he will be getting this for christmas. He doesn't play games on his pc (although he might if he gets this) but he wants something that doesn't take forever to boot up and forever to load up internet pages etc. Would you think this is suitable for him?
