Timescale is cheating?

Hello Codjumper forum!

I have been called a cheater numerous times for using timescale to emulate fps effects. it is true that timescale is slightly more effective because i can time my rpgs and switches a lot better, resulting in a bit extra height or length.

I want to hear all the codjumpers' opinion on this matter because i dont think its "cheating". I cant afford an expensive godlike computer so i use timescale to emulate fps. Please discuss.

Well it does require devmap. I find it pretty cool to set your timescale in such a way that it's used as 1000FPS.

other codjumpers have used timescale before. its supposed to be a way to EMULATE fps. yes it cannot be used in public servers, but is it really cheating?

I think not. it makes things easier, but for people with not great comps, its a good way to just be able to do things you otherwise couldnt.

Emulating FPS is the same as buying an ultra computer. the jumps you perform, although hard are still possible on a normal server.

To my knowledge, our rules have been simply "If it can be done on a normal server, then it is fair".

Emulation is fine.

sorry man :(. try it with timescale. it is VERY hard to strafe with timescale but with enough practice you can get very far :D

I don't consider timescale cheating but this isen't the case here is it? You admitted that you cheated to me.

"mpc1: let me clarify..im not saying timescale is cheating,im the 1 that has brought up these accusations of him cheating. I can say timescale is cheating cause i dont know enough about it,it would be ignorant of me..but what i am saying is that bennieboy is cheating. he has impossible jumps in his vid, that he claims to have only used timescale on, jumps myself and a few other good jumpers need atleast 210 speed to perform. so i say if timescale give u this kind of advantage, then i dont see how anyone would say its not cheating. bottomline he has jumps that are not possible=unfair=cheat"

MPC says it all he pretty obviosly cheated on many jumps and not meaning timescale i'm meaning gravity changes. Remeber that he also helped me hunt down cheaters a while ago. kinda sad he was cheating at the same time :/

So what we are saying here is that Bennie is using timescale to emulate fps, but the jumps he does with his emulated fps are in fact impossible with normal fps.
I think that the fps emulation in itself isnt cheating, as it is a valuable tool for jumpers with computers that cannot reach the higher fps, but the fps emulation that Bennie uses is not accurately emulating normal fps, and so is more effective meaning some jumps he can do are not actually possible.
I believe that for this timescale fps emulation to not be considered cheating someone needs to find exact values so that the fps that is emulated through timescale is the same as normal fps, so there is a level playing field and everyone is happy.

i used slight g_speed editing to do some of my jumps. no longer will that be the case and im sorry to all people of these codjumper forums! please note that only my "new jumps and bounces" and "district huge bounce" vids have cheats in them (if i missed any plz point them out to me) but again i apologize for cheating and ive gotten better at using timescale so i wont need cheats anymore anyway.

Im not asking for all of you to trust me that im not cheating anymore, just know that im sorry for what i've done.

well at least you said :) just dont try to use it again.i had same pc as you i never could get 250 fps but i was doing really hard
bounces and rpg strafe by 125 fps *Without any g_speeds*
