I've noticed that if you have it on 64, and at the top of your jump, if you hit something where the top is 64 units, you will "climb" up it. Set it to 0, and you won't climb at all. It's sorta like setting how high a player can step up onto steps in the air.
With that said, I'm guessing bouncing is the game thinking the slant is a "step in the air", and it sends you climbing up it with the velocity you have, which sends you into the air. Set it to 0, and it can't climb anymore.
