With everyone complaining about GTA 4 not being as 'good' as gtasa, I think we all need to remember the gta sa. It was fucking great but compared to gta 4? :?

^ Not aimed at anyone fyi :)

That's fantastic and I agree that GTA used to be a fantastic series, but I don't have any respect for a developer that can't make a decent PC version of a game. I also don't like the fact that Zaitseb compared BP to GTA. The games are totally different.

I thought it was a decent PC version. It was well within the range of playable when i had my 8400 gs and i could go at near max settings on my 260 gtx with a bottom of ~20 fps. In the other aspects such as shooting, and other things, it was like all the other GTA's for the computer imo :s.

exactly, terrible optimization. The graphics aren't even that great and you can't run it on a top of the line video card that can run far cry 2 on full graphics (which has much graphics than GTAIV)

.... i just stated that i didn't think it was terrible optimization basically...

Terrible optimization = Crysis (first one)

Crysis just tried to make graphics too good too early. The optimization is bad because they created graphics that there wasn't technology out to easily manage it with. That is totally different from GTAIV which looks like absolute crap in comparison to Crysis and runs just as well.

I believe that Crysis:Warhead used the even better graphics than the original, yet it plays a LOT better due to better optimization. on Max settings on Crysis, I had maybe 25 fps max and 20 fps average and on Crysis:Warhead I had a max of 40 and an average of about 30. I'm not sure on that tho.

EDIT: I do think that the optimization of GTAIV is a bit below decent, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be imo. I had about 35 fps on average on max settings + it's built far differently than crysis. I believe GTAIV depends more on your processor than graphics card simply because many more things are happening and being processed, but that's just what i think.

well I think we kind of came to the end of the discussion. I agree I was being a bit too cruel towards GTA, but I did bring up several valid points as to why GTAIV is not as good as the previous ones.

Back on topic - what is the difference between this and the original? I am looking for a new racer and this could be perfect.

Its either this, or Race Pro.
